Former Paris Saint-Germain coach Christophe Galtier appeared disappointed to be sacked and replaced by current coach, Luis Enrique.
Galtier said in an interview with Canal Plus: “My dismissal and replacement was a painful decision, because I did my utmost with the French club and I repeated that so that respectable people in Paris would remember me, as the club includes many respectable figures.”
He added: “But I am very happy with the time I spent in Paris. I enjoyed it, and I am proud of my participation in winning the historic league title for the 11th time, and topping the competition table from the first round to the last.”
He pointed out: “Working with three big stars, such as Messi, Mbappe, and Neymar, and integrating them into the team without disturbing the technical balance, was a great challenge, and enjoyable work, contrary to what was reported in the media.”
He explained: “The media exaggerates everything in Paris. From a spark, it creates a volcano, from a word, it writes a novel, and with one fact, it creates an entire film.”
Galtier talked about the current coach, Luis Enrique: “It was not easy in his first weeks with the team, and there were many arrivals and departures, and things are now starting to fall into place.”
Christophe concluded: “But Enrique arrived in Paris with a strong CV. He is the former coach of Spain and Barcelona, with whom he won the most prestigious titles, so he was more protected than me in his debut with Paris.”
