The headline of the French sports newspaper L’Equipe’s report on Tuesday read, “Messi-Saint-Germain: Divorce is near.” The report added that the chances of reaching an agreement are declining on both sides.
Messi’s contract, 35, expires with the French champions until the end of the season.
Messi joined Saint-Germain in 2021 from Barcelona, who could not afford to pay his salary.
But the Barcelona official said that they are negotiating with Messi’s camp about a possible return, and it was said that the American club, Inter Miami, is interested in including the Argentine star.
And “L’Equipe” reported that Messi’s father and agent, Jorge Messi, reached an informal agreement with Nasser Al-Khelaifi, president of Saint-Germain, in November, but without any amendment.
