The French feature film Our Ties, directed by Rushdi Zem, began its commercial screenings at Cinema Akil in the UAE, which started from Friday 17th and will continue until Sunday March. on film.
Recently, MAD Solutions launched the movie’s teaser in the Arab world on its social media platforms, and had previously released the movie’s promotional poster.
Our Ties witnessed its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival, where it competed for the Golden Lion Award, and received its first show in the Arab world at the Cairo International Film Festival. Montpellier International Film Festival of the Mediterranean (Cinemed), La Roche-sur-Yon International Film Festival, Tromsø Norway Film Festival, Angoulême Francophone Film Festival, Moret International Film Festival.
It also received wide critical acclaim in the media, as Fabien Lemercier wrote, “Rushdie Zim did not disappoint our expectations, and the actors presented their roles brilliantly,” and Jessica Kiang wrote, “The director and the actors performed their roles with such sincere love that it is difficult to believe that these people do not belong to the same family,” and Leah Nelson praised Ali Rushdi Zaim “Zim continues to create in his career that includes honest and exciting work.”
The film tells the story of two brothers, Musa, the kind and selfless person who supports his family, and in contrast to his brother Riyad, the famous TV presenter who is hated by those around him because of his selfishness, and his only defender is Musa, who has a strong admiration for him. A strong fall causes Musa to suffer severe brain trauma, which causes him to indiscriminately speak harsh truths to his friends and family alike.

Our Ties Directed by Rushdi Zem and co-written with Mayoine, the film includes a large number of award-winning stars, including Sami Bouajila, winner of the French César Award for Best Actor, French star Mayoine, winner of the Jury Prize from the Cannes Film Festival and nominated for several Cesar Awards, Rachid Bouchareb won awards from the Cannes, Berlin, Locarno and Cesar festivals, Rushdi Zaim, Maryam Serbah, Abel Jaffrey, Lela Fernandez and Nina Zaim.

Behind the camera is Our Ties, one of the most prominent names in the French and international cinema industry, composed by Maxence Dossier, César Award winner for Annette, director of photography Julien Poupard (Oscar-nominated Les Misérables), editor Pierre Deschamps (Oscar-nominated Jackie). Produced by Aziz Belkash, and co-producing the film Why Not Productions with Hole In One Films. The film is sold globally by Wild Bunch International, while MAD Solutions distributes it in the Arab world.

Rochdi Ziem is a French actor, director, and author. He made his first film role in the movie J’embrasse Pas, directed by Andre Tecny in 1991. He won the Best Actor award at the Cannes Festival for his role in Days Of Glory by Rachid Bouchareb, along with the rest of the film’s co-stars. Rushdi directed his first film Mauvaise Foi, then Omar M’a Tuer in 2011, Bodybuilder in 2014 and Chocolat, which sold about 2 million tickets in France. In 2019, Zim participated in the movie Roubaix, Une Lumière, directed by Arnaud Deplechin, winning him the César Award for Best Actor. In the same year, he made his fifth film as a director.
