Today, Tuesday, an English press report stated that Chelsea is threatened with paying huge fines, in addition to deducting points from its Premier League balance next season.
According to the British newspaper “The Times”, the English Premier League decided to open an investigation with Chelsea, due to transactions conducted by the club during the era of former owner Roman Abramovich, such as paying millions of pounds to secret external companies.
The newspaper pointed out that the new Chelsea owners had informed officials of wrong numbers in the club’s securities from 2012 to 2019, which leads to its being subject to scrutiny now.
She indicated that although the financial violations occurred under the previous ownership, Chelsea face penalties represented in imposing huge fines and deducting some points.
Chelsea’s ownership was recently transferred to American businessman Todd Boyle, for 2.5 billion pounds.
