The Executive Vice President of Business Development and Financial Services at The Benefit Company, Yousef Al-Nafaie, revealed an update project that the company is working on to implement the national electronic wallet, “Benefit Pay.” He described the project as a qualitative leap that will improve the users’ experience of the widespread and most popular application in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Al-Nafaie said in statements to Al-Bilad that Benefit is seeking to enhance and develop services, as all of them will be new services that aim to enhance and improve the users’ experience.

He explained that it will add a personal character to services, in a way that specifically suits the desires of each customer, adding: “The application will recognize the user and will give him special services specifically directed to him, so that each customer gets his own needs met in an intelligent manner using data analysis and intelligent processing of information.”

He pointed out that the “Benefit” team is working on this project, and its results are expected to appear within the 2024 plan, so that there will be services and a qualitative shift that the user will experience.

Al-Nafaie was responding to inquiries regarding the agreement recently signed by “Benefit” with the international company “Visa”, where he added, “The agreement addresses the development of everything related to user experiences in the banking sector, in the field of research and development of payments and electronic transfers, both at the local level in Bahrain.” Or abroad.”

He added: “Benefit Pay users will see the results of joint work with Visa.”

The Benefit Company is one of the most pioneering companies in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which has promoted national goals towards reducing cash dealing and improving banking and financial services in the Kingdom of Bahrain, within a plan developed by the Central Bank of Bahrain to advance the sector towards digital transformation in the financial sector.

Regarding the external expansion of Benefit’s services in the field of payments, Al-Nafie said: “Today, Bahrain is in contact with the world, whether in information or data exchange. Visa is one of the partners with whom there will be mutual benefit, in terms of providing services in an innovative manner in electronic payments.” At the regional and global levels.”

The BenefitPay application has emerged as the most popular payment application in Bahrain, which strengthens its leading position as the preferred payment platform on mobile phones in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as the application usage rate reaches 40 million uses of the platform per month.

In 2022, more than 240 million transactions were completed for the Fawry+ service, more than 10 million transactions for the Fawry service, and 468,000 transactions for the Fawry service, in addition to other services and information such as fuel payments, transfers, and balance viewing.
