Al-Bilad learned that the Indian airline IndiGo plans to operate 3 daily flights between Bahrain and India.
The sources told the newspaper that, starting next June, the company will operate a daily flight between Bahrain and Kochi, which is located within the state of Kerala on the southwestern coast of India, in addition to the daily flight from Bahrain to Mumbai.
The sources stated that the company plans to operate a third daily flight between Bahrain and another destination in India, and it will be announced in due course.
Bahrain International Airport had received the first flights of the Indian company that took off from Mumbai to Bahrain in August 2022, and Bahrain International Airport is the first international station that the company has added to its network since the start of the Corona pandemic.
An official at the Bahrain Airport Company said that the addition of this airline with the company will enhance the distinguished historical relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of India and will increase the ease of travel between the two countries for work and tourism.
It is noteworthy that Indigo is one of the largest airlines in India in terms of market share, and it is a low-cost carrier.
