With the issuance of the decree law deducting 200 million dinars from the Unemployment Insurance Fund in favor of the Labor Fund “Tamkeen,” the Chairman of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee in the House of Representatives, Muhammad Al-Ahmad, said that the agreement with the government revolves around launching initiatives to support the salaries of citizens working in the private sector and launching initiatives to employ them. Through the “Tamkeen” Labor Fund, and also so that these initiatives are within the “Tamkeen” budget, the government has made it clear that if there is a need to deduct insurance amounts, it will resort to unemployment insurance to support this project.
Al-Ahmad pointed out that the state’s general budget for the fiscal years 2021 and 2022 has received much criticism regarding employment and salaries in the private sector, because it is assumed that this part covers citizens in the private sector.
Al-Ahmad stated that according to the agreement with the government, the 200 million dinars will be used to support the salaries and employment of Bahrainis in the private sector, expressing his hope that “Tamkeen” will quickly launch its initiatives.
