A regional official at ACWA Power, the leading Saudi company in the field of energy transition and the largest private company in the field of water desalination in the world, and the first in the field of green hydrogen, said that the company is looking forward to new projects with the Kingdom of Bahrain in the field of energy.

On the sidelines of his participation in the World Conference on Water, Energy and Climate Change, the regional director of ACWA Power, Abdullah Jubran, told Al-Bilad that there is cooperation with the Electricity and Water Authority in Bahrain, and that the company has ambitions to enter new projects, whether in renewable energy or fields. traditional.

Regarding his impression of the World Conference on Water, Energy and Climate Change, which is being hosted by Manama for three days, he indicated his admiration for the participation of a group of experts in various fields, including the banking sector, manufacturing, development, operations, technology and operation in one place, to present the cream of what they extracted from studies and research to the participants. at the conference.

Gibran said that all these sectors are part of an integrated chain, as these studies and research turn into projects on the ground, and affect the prices of products, whether in water or energy. Regarding allegations that oil-producing countries do not adhere to the goals of the environment and climate change as they should, Gebran refuted these allegations, as he indicated that the Gulf countries, and in the forefront the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, play a major and pivotal role in sustainability and renewable energy projects.

He pointed out that Saudi Aramco, the world’s largest oil producer, is actively involved in renewable energy and environmentally friendly green hydrogen projects.

The regional director of “Aqua Bau” touched on the company’s project to establish the world’s largest green hydrogen plant, which is currently under construction, and whose production will be exported to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to the world.

It is noteworthy that the huge hydrogen plant of the NEOM Green Hydrogen Company, which is an equal partnership to implement a joint venture between “ACWA Power”, “Air Products” and “NEOM”, will produce up to 4 gigawatts of solar energy and wind energy, which will be used in turn. To produce up to 600 metric tons per day of carbon-free hydrogen by the end of 2026, in the form of green ammonia, as a cost-effective solution for the transportation and industrial sectors globally.
