An informed source confirmed to Al-Riyadh that Al-Arabi Club of Qatar asked its Saudi counterpart Al-Ahly to extend the loan of Syrian striker Omar Al-Soma for another season, in exchange for $1.5 million.
The source added that the Qatari club believes that the amount is large in light of one year remaining in Al-Soma’s contract with Al-Ahly club, which expires at the end of the 2024 season.
The source indicated that Al-Arabi will seek to resolve the issue of the Syrian striker, and reach an amount that satisfies all parties before the launch of the team’s camp, which begins at the end of next month in Spain, especially in light of the player’s great desire to remain in the ranks of the Qatari Al-Ahmar.
While Al-Ahly will consider the offers submitted and the clubs wishing to include Al-Somah, foremost among which is the Qatari club Al-Gharafa, which is competing with its Arab counterpart to win the services of the Syrian striker.
