Al Ain striker, Togolese Laba Kodjo, reinforced his numbers as the best scorer for “Al Zaeem” throughout his history, after scoring his team’s goals against Hatta, during the match that took place the day before yesterday, in the second round of the ADNOC Professional League. Laba rose to third place on the list of the 10 best strikers in the history of Al Ain, after he surpassed the former Al Ain legend, Majid Al Owais, thanks to Hatta’s two goals, raising his scoring record to 88 goals, while Al Owais remained at 86 goals.
And now the Togolese striker needs only seven goals, to equal the Ghanaian Asamoah Gyan, who has 95 goals, while Ahmed Abdullah is still tweeting in the lead with 122 goals. Laba played 91 league matches for Al Ain, during four seasons, scoring 88 goals and 20 assists.
The Al Ain striker missed scoring in the first round in the Bani Yas match when Al Ain won 3-2, to make a strong comeback against Hatta, and scored a double, his 12th in the league, and scored a third goal that was canceled by (the mouse) for offside.
A state of relief dominated the Al Ain coaching staff, led by Dutchman Alfred Schroeder, after winning the second in a row. Schroeder said in a press statement: “I am happy with the gains that we made from the Hatta match, foremost of which are the three points. There is a goal that was ruled out for offside, and the goal I think is correct. We also had a penalty kick in the first half that was not counted.”
Al Ain coach added, “We decided the result in the first half, and we were able to maintain our focus in the second session, and we held together at the times when Hatta was pressing to reduce the score, and it was important that we not concede any goals.” Schroeder reassured the Al Ain fans about the health condition of the left back Eric, and said: “Eric’s injury is a muscle strain, and it is not an injury that can be worried about. As for Matthias, he is returning from a long injury of nearly three months, and we must be patient with him.”

The Serbian coach of Hatta, Markov, said, “The result of the match sided with Al Ain, which owns a team that has the highest market value.” And he continued in the press conference: “The goals scored by Al Ain were not a surprise to me, they were decided by the quality of his players.”
He pointed out that “the Hatta players are thanked for their performance for the second match in a row. Everyone gave their best, they still have a lot to do, and they are developing from one training to another.”
