Under the slogan “Green Cinema”, the sixth session of the Al Ain International Film Festival will start from the fourth to the eighth of next February, as it will display a group of the most prominent local, Gulf, Arab and international films in the city of Al Ain.
The festival announced that it will present a number of different initiatives, programs and workshops presented by Al Ain Film Festival in its new session, to continue its journey in serving the “Seventh Art”.
As part of the program honoring the “Achievements of Artists”, Al Ain Film Festival chose in the sixth session to honor some filmmakers, out of gratitude and gratitude for what they have provided to culture and art in general, and to cinema in particular, and for their artistic career full of many achievements and their great contributions to the advancement of the “Seventh Art”, and they are: the Emirati actor Marai Al-Halyan, and filmmaker Abdul Hamid Jumaa, who founded and chaired the Dubai International Film Festival.
This year’s session attracted many unique films in the festival’s various competitions, especially the “Gulf Falcon Long” competition, in which several feature films are competing for the grand prize, the most prominent of which from the Emirates are “Dalma” by director Hamid Al Suwaidi, “Three” by director Naila Al Khaja, and ” The Caravan is Going” by director Saleh Karama Al-Amiri, in addition to the Kuwaiti film “The Cocoon” by director Ahmed Al-Tarkait.
As part of the Emirati Falcon Short Competition, nine films will be screened, including: “A Prayer of Hope” by director Hamad Al Hammadi, “The Tiger” by director Sultan Bin Dafoun, and “Tomorrow’s Dialogue: An Interview with Mr. Plastic” by director Yasser Al Neyadi.
11 films will compete in the Falcon Gulf Short Film Competition.
Meanwhile, Al Ain Cinema screens will display 13 films in the Falcon Resident Film Competition.
Al Ain Cinema will screen a group of the most prominent international films, some of which were nominated for an Oscar, as part of the Falcon International Feature Film Competition.

The president of Al Ain Film Festival and artistic director, Amer Salmeen Al Marri, said: “The festival will remain the most prominent platform for celebrating the region’s filmmakers, both veterans and young talents, as movie lovers and enthusiasts in the region live many days in love with the seventh art, after the remarkable success achieved by the festival.” During the past five years.

Inspiring vision
The President of Al Ain Film Festival and Artistic Director, Amer Salmeen Al Marri, confirmed that after the success of the festival in previous sessions in developing various programs, this year comes the “Green Cinema” program, after the UAE hosted the Conference of the Parties (COP 28), with the aim of presenting an inspiring cinematic vision, to instill Values of climate and environmental work among young people, through the presentation of long and short cinematic and documentary stories, from various parts of the world, work to increase awareness of the importance of climate change and environmental responsibility, and also enhance the concept of sustainability and preservation of the oceans and planet Earth.
