DUBAI, 4th October, 2018 (WAM) – Dutchman Alfred Schroeder, coach of Al Ain Football Team, confirmed that the team’s performance in its match against Al Turkmani in the AFC Champions League was the best ever for the team since he took charge and the beginning of the current football season.
Al Ain strengthened its lead in the first group of the tournament, with 6 points, following its victory yesterday, Tuesday, over “Ahal” 4-2 in the second round of the tournament.
“It was a well-deserved win, and I think we played our best game so far this season,” Schroeder said. “The players showed full commitment to the plan and created many chances and we could have scored 7 goals in the first half.”
He added: “I always try to make changes in positions, especially if we are ahead in the score. Sometimes, I push Eric into the middle and other times Khaled Al-Balushi, which always gives us the advantage.”
In its next match in the tournament, Al Ain will host the Saudi team Al Fayhaa on October 24th.
