Al-Ahly Jeddah Club Signs Algerian Star Riyad Mahrez from Manchester City

Today, Sunday, press reports stated that Al-Ahly Jeddah Club, which has recently returned to the Saudi Professional Football League, has reached an agreement with Algerian international Riyad Mahrez to join the team during the current summer transfer period, coming from Manchester City, the English Premier League champion.

According to the website of the Saudi newspaper, Al-Riyadiah, “the contracts will be signed after Mahrez, the 32-year-old former Leicester City star, passes medical examinations, and will join Al-Ahly’s external camp directly,” but without disclosing the duration of the contract or the material value.

Mahrez contributed to Leicester City winning the Premier League title for the first time in the club’s history during the 2015-2016 season, and in that season he won the Best Player award.

Mahrez also contributed during the past season to Manchester City achieving its first title in the European Champions League, in addition to winning the English Premier League title 4 times.

And Al-Ahly of Saudi Arabia had previously announced, during the summer transfer period, the signing of Brazilian Roberto Firmino from Liverpool and Senegalese goalkeeper Edouard Mendy from Chelsea.
