Brazilian newspapers commented on Al-Ahly Club’s qualification for the semi-finals of the Club World Cup, after defeating the Saudi Jeddah Federation, 3-1, and setting up a match with its Brazilian rival, Fluminense, in the next confrontation, on Monday evening, on the floor of the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium ( radiant jewel).
The newspaper “Gazeta Esportiva” headlined: Benzema misses a penalty kick and Al-Ahly scores three goals in Al-Ittihad, and faces Fluminense in the semi-finals of the Club World Cup.
The newspaper pointed out that French star Karim Benzema missed a penalty kick, despite scoring the only goal for his team at the end of the match, and Al-Ahly and Fluminense will compete for a place in the final match of the Club World Cup.
“O GLOBO” newspaper wrote: Al-Ahly defeats Al-Ittihad without difficulty and will be Fluminense’s competitor in the World Cup semi-finals. The African champion killed the match with counterattacks, after the Egyptian goalkeeper saved Benzema’s penalty kick.
The newspaper explained that Al-Ahly did not feel afraid of the big names in the ranks of Al-Ittihad, such as Benzema, Fabinho and Kante, and under the eyes of Fluminense coach Fernando Diniz, the Egyptian team showed its capabilities, and goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shenawy had an effective role in the match.
The newspaper “Correio Braziliense” said that Karim Benzema scored a goal too late, after Hussein El-Shahat scored a wonderful goal and Emam Ashour ensured a three-time victory for Al-Ahly.
