Al-Ahed, the league champion, set a date with its counterpart Al-Nijmeh in the final of the Lebanon Football Cup, by defeating Shabab Al-Sahel with a score (4-0), in the second semi-final confrontation, which took place this afternoon, Monday, at the President Fouad Shehab Complex Stadium in Jounieh.
Al-Ahed scored for Lee Irwin (D20), George Melki (30), Ali Al-Hajj (85), Hussein Zain (90+3).
The defending champion, Al-Nijmeh, qualified for the final match scheduled for next Sunday at the same stadium, after defeating Al-Burj 2-0, in the first of the two semi-final matches in Jounieh as well.
Al-Najma is looking forward to an eighth title in the competition, equaling the number of times it won the General League Championship, while Al-Ahed is seeking the seventh title, equaling the number of Al-Najma in the Cup, to occupy the partnership and runner-up of the golden record behind Al-Ansar, who holds the record with 15 titles.
