Al-Abyad presents the method of receiving and distributing medical aid

The Minister of Public Health in the caretaker government, Firas Al-Abyad, provided details of the automated mechanism for the process of receiving and distributing donations and medical assistance, in a way that ensures transparency , good management, and equitable distribution to hospitals. and health centers linked to shelters for displaced people in various regions of Lebanon.

This came at a press conference held by the White Minister at the main drug warehouse Karantina, in the presence of the representative of the World Health Organization in Lebanon, Dr. Abdel Nasser Abu Bakr, and the representative of UNICEF in Lebanon, Edward Beigbeder.

Al-Abyad explained that “mechanization will include all the aid that will be delivered to Lebanon and distributed,” adding that “mechanization was a key axis in the strategy of the Ministry of Health Public, and was accepted in the equipment for distributing cancer and incurable medicines, and the same method will be used in receiving and distributing support through my program.

He said: “A mechanism for organizing aid is essential because it ensures transparency and increases the confidence of donor countries and Lebanese communities that support Lebanon abroad, and it also show how serious their commitment is to our displaced people. “

He pointed out that “the number of teams working in the warehouses has quadrupled to ensure that there is no delay in receiving and distributing medicines.”

He said: “The arrangement takes place in the basic warehouses in the Biel region, after which the medicines are transferred to the warehouses of the Ministry of Public Health, where they are loaded and distributed through MedTrack and LMS occur through government and private hospitals, primary care centers, clinics, and mobile teams working in the shelter centers.”

He thanked “the partners who provide support in dangerous areas, where coordination is done by international organizations, especially the World Health Organization, UNICEF, and International Committee of the Red Cross, with the aim of ensuring that medicines and supplies reach the exposed areas. to aggression.”

Services provided in numbers:

212 primary health care centers provide services to more than 600 shelters hosting more than 200,000 displaced people.
97 mobile clinics run 182 shelters.
83 mobile teams move across 258 shelters.
21,000 medicine boxes were distributed in the last two weeks.
30,000 views.
1,000 dialysis and cancer patients requiring hospitalization were directed to treatment centers.
10,000 questions were answered through hotlines 1787 and 1214.
Aid: The Minister of Health said: “Lebanon has received aid from more than fourteen countries, including Iraq, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Iran, the Emirates, Slovakia, Poland, France, the United Kingdom, Colombia, Chile, and tomorrow the Qatar State Opening of the bridge.” By plane to Lebanon, where more than fifteen planes will arrive with the support of international organizations, especially the World Health Organization, UNICEF, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and the International Organization for Migration.

He announced, “The total weight of the aid is more than 330 tons, and so far pieces of it have been delivered to more than 55 hospitals and 134 care centers, as well as emergency organizations. “

Al-Abyad pointed out, “A daily report will be issued by the Public Health Emergency Operations Center detailing the aid that has arrived and distributed to the Disaster and Emergency Management Committee located in the Government Palace .”

He concluded by thanking “partners in international organizations and members of the Lebanese communities abroad, and the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the embassies and consulates, who carry out dozens of communications daily with the Ministry of Public Health to coordinate sending more aid and assistance to Lebanon. .”
