Akhmat, Rubin and six more clubs can hold a separate tournament for seats in the RPL

As it became known to the “Championship”, in case of early termination of the RPL, the RFU is considering the option of holding an additional tournament for the right to play in the Russian Premier League next season.

It is assumed that four teams from the RPL – Orenburg, Rubin, Wings of the Soviets and Akhmat – and four teams from the FNL – Rotor, Khimki, Chertanovo and Torpedo will take part in the tournament .

Meetings are planned in the least restrictive region due to the coronavirus epidemic. The teams will play one or two matches with each other, the top four clubs will play in the RPL next season.

At the same time, other formats of the tournament are considered.

The current Russian Premier League draw was suspended in March along with almost all the tournaments in the world due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The decision to cancel butt games for access to the RPL has not yet been made
