DYFI Central Committee Member & Joint Secretary of State M Shajar presented the trophy at the cricket tournament to Akash Thillankeri, which was rejected by the party due to quota reasons, at Kannur CPM. The incident became controversial after photos of him appeared on social media.

Controversial Akash Thillankeri and Shan Bawa were awarded the Tillankeri Premier League cricket tournament champions CKG Vanchery trophy by Shajar. Akash Tillankeri is also a cyber warrior who is responding on social media in favor of P Jayarajan.
Previously, DYFI led padayatras and outreach programs against Arjun Ayanki, the defendant in the gold smuggling case, and Akash Tillankeri, accused of leading the listing group.
It was Shajar who was the district secretary who filed a complaint with the police commissioner of Kannur city against Akash Tillankeri who accused the former district chairman of DYFI, Manuthomas, of leaking the organization’s secrets to the media. M Shajar has not yet commented on sharing the stage with Akash Tillankeri.

Meanwhile, KPCC Chairman K Sudhakaran came forward against the DYFI leader. Sudhakaran said the CPM is providing protection to Akash Thillankeri who is accused of gold smuggling and listing cases. He was talking to reporters in Kannur.
An example of this is when DYF leader Shajar shared the stage with Akash. It is sad that DYFI has been reduced to a drug gang. It is strange that it is the CPM that screens and protects the gang of gold smuggling quotas. Similarly, inside the prison, Kotisuni runs the quote industry under the protection of the CPM. Sudhakaran also accused the CPM of giving shade to Kotisuni.
