Akasa shows housing for Intel’s NUC 9 computing modules – Computer – News

The manufacturer of PC equipment Akasa has announced the Venom QX housing. The case supports Intel NUC 9 Compute Element cards. The company plans to release more NUC 9 enclosures.

Akasa reports that in a press release Tech for techs publishes that it is his first actively cooled enclosure for Intel’s NUC platform. The dimensions of the Venom QX are 180x377x260mm and the housing offers space for one of the different NUC 9 Compute Element cards that Intel offers.

These are PCI e-plug-in cards with the processors, memory and connections such as Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI. Such is the NUC 9 Extreme NUC9I9QNB built around the Core i9-9980HK and there is also a card with one Xeon processor. According to Akasa, in addition to the Compute Element, there is room for the Board Element with three pci-e slots and a separate dual slot video card with a length of up to 300 mm.

The Venom QX can also contain an 800W sfx power supply and at the top there is room to place three 8cm fans. There are two USB type A ports on the front of the housings. Although in this case it is a case with active cooling, Akasa is also working on variants with passive cooling for workstations and high-end users. These enclosures, the Turing QX and Galileo QX, should appear later this quarter.

More manufacturers showed on the CES enclosures for Intel’s Compute Element, including Cooler Master and Razer. Intel itself showed its Ghost Canyon system.
