Ajax reported: two good actors, one is enough, goodbye to Farioli

Remko Pasveer – 8: In the opening phase he had to save the Amsterdam furniture several times, while he was not just silent for his goal in the second half either. But Pasveer showed his virtue and stayed upright.

Devyne Rensch – 6.5: with good action play and ditto combination, Rensch was worth gold before the only Ajax goal came. He could use such luck, after two difficult performances against FK Vojvodina.

Josip Sutalo – 6: it is clear that Sutalo was asked to take more initiative. That’s going well for him, but the Croat is still not the best football player in Ajax’s selection. And so things went wrong regularly.

Youri Baas – 8: Baas, who lived up to his name in Greece, is the first week of the season to be announced at Ajax. He was convincing and at times even reminded Daley Blind with his ball skills.

Jorrel Hato – 6: Hato’s performance was variable. As the game progressed, there were more bad choices, although the Ajax teenager did not earn a failure rate.

Jordan Henderson – 6: Little by little Henderson makes it a hobby to insult his players. But it all serves a purpose. With the veteran on the field, Ajax looks more stable.

Cian Fitz-Jim – 6: Many are going at the same pace with Fitz-Jim, who deserves a high rating based on his play on the ball. He also helped. But in the duels he is still a little too light, too apathetic.

Steven Berghuis – 7: the most dangerous Ajax attacker in Athens. Berghuis broke the spell after 27 minutes with a blazing shot, following a good mix-up. He is ready to take Ajax by the hand soon.

Cuba Akpom – 5: the first opportunity of the game went to Akpom, which was a little more active than in Vojvodina diptych. But, that was it. His telling average so far: zero goals and zero assists, including pre-season.

Carlos Forbes – 5.5: his start was good, but after that Forbes showed little. He may be just as fast as Femke Bol, but he has nothing to do with the ball.

Mika Godts – 6: he came on for Forbes after 56 minutes and was as busy as he was unhappy in his actions. There are enough good intentions, now it is important for Belgians to make the right choice more often.

Anton Gaaei – 6: he came on for Berghuis after 56 minutes, initially as a winger. That went well for him. A little later he reached the same level in his familiar position as he was back.

Bertrand Traoré – x: he came on for Akpom after 67 minutes and played too short to rate.

Trainer
Francesco Farioli – 7: The extent to which a trainer can make a difference has been shown so far at Ajax. Farioli’s game plan makes the Amsterdam team much more stable. Confidence is growing and the upward trend is visible.
