Ajax has again rejected an offer from West Ham United on Mohammed Kudus. Fabrizio Romano reports this on Tuesday evening. The club from London would like to take over the attacker, but is now considering withdrawing from the negotiations. According to the Italian journalist, it was a bid of 42 million euros.
On Saturday, David Ornstein of The Athletic already reported that the Hammers had made an initial offer for Kudus. It is unknown what the amount of that offer is, but now there was an amount of 42 million on the table. This is more than the 40 million offered by Brighton & Hove Albion for the Ghanaian in July. At the time, Ajax agreed to the transfer fee, but Kudus could not agree with the Seagulls on a contract.
Now that the Eredivisie season has already started and the transfer market will close in just over a week, Ajax has less interest in selling the attacker. It will be difficult to present an adequate replacement in time. Due to the reserved attitude of the team from Amsterdam, West Ham doubts whether it wants to negotiate further about the 23-year-old attacker.
Kudus has so far played 86 official matches at Ajax, in which he scored 24 goals and 12 assists. The wing attacker annex attacking midfielder is still under contract in the Johan Cruijff ArenA until mid-2025. Earlier this transfer summer, he refused to extend his current contract by one season.
