sport">He then moved to Werder Bremen a year later. However, the midfielder continued to follow Ajax faithfully – and fanatically – and when he was able to return to the Johan Cruijff ArenA last summer, he took immediate action.
sport">In conversation with Ajax TV Klaassen looks back on his time abroad in the run-up to the cracker with Feyenoord, a clash between the numbers one and two of the Eredivisie. And in particular the way his former teammates dealt with his passion for his Amsterdam ‘childhood sweetheart’.

sport">“If Ajax lost, I was told that right away in the dressing room. The day after they lost to Tottenham Hotspur in the semi-final of the Champions League, my Werder teammates showed up with a cut-out Champions League cup … To tease me of course. ”
sport">By taking a victory with Ajax on Sunday, Klaassen can take back his former teammates. “Many people may think: Ajax will win that easily. I think we will eventually have a better team, but we have to show that. We cannot play a match on our favorite role. We have to accelerate on Sunday. ”
sport">For Klaassen it is unthinkable that he will ever play for Feyenoord. Even though his brother is an ardent supporter of the Rotterdam club. “No, I really can’t imagine that. That is out of the question ”, is the midfielder, who scored four times in seven duels against the arch rival.
