Performa ajax Amsterdam even decreased after leaving Erik ten Hag. The defending Dutch League champions have failed to win in their last seven matches, which led to the dismissal of coach Alfred Schreuder.
Ajax is currently fifth in the standings with 34 points from 18 matches. They are actually ‘only’ seven points behind Feyenoord Rotterdam who are at the top.
However, the 1-1 draw against bottom team Volendam at home on Friday (27/1/2023) in the morning WIB made the patience of Ajax’s management run out. Mohammed Kudus has not won since October 22.

After that, Ajax lost to PSV Eindhoven and were held successively by Vitesse Arnhem, Emmen, NEC Nijmegen, Twente, Feyenoord, and finally Volendam. Schreuder, who was appointed last summer to replace Ten Hag, has finally been sacked.
“This is a painful decision, but it needs to be taken. Despite the good start to the season, we have lost a lot of points that should not have happened. We are in a precarious situation,” said Ajax CEO Edwin van der Sar in an official club statement.
On the other hand, the Ten Hag are on a good streak together Manchester United. The Red Devils have won eight wins in 10 matches in all competitions since the 2022 World Cup.

MU is also the only English team that still survives in four different competitions. Most recently, they beat Nottingham Forest 3-0 in the first leg of the English League Cup semifinal on January 25.
While coached by Ten Hag in 2017-2022, Ajax won three Eredivisie titles (2019, 2021, 2022) and two KNVB Cups (2019, 2021). When the Dutch League was stopped in the 2019-20 season due to COVID-19, Ajax was leading the standings with 56 points from 25 matches.
