Ajax cannot yet say when Mohamed Ihattaren will return to the training field. The player hired from Juventus has been missing from the selection for quite some time and did not join a training camp to Austria this month.
Ajax announced earlier this month that Ihattaren “is not fit”, but according to The Telegraph in VI are there problems in the private sphere? For example, the former PSV player would receive threats, which allegedly do not come from supporters.
Technical manager Gerry Hamstra did not want to elaborate on the situation on Tuesday, but said he is concerned. “We are all concerned about Mo,” he told just before the exhibition game against Shakhtar Donetsk Ziggo Sports.
“We are a football club, but some things go beyond football. We are all committed to Mo. There is contact with him from the club through a direct line.”
‘Hope to greet him again soon’
Hamstra could not say when Ihattaren is expected back and whether he can complete an individual training program. “The most important thing is that he is doing well,” he emphasizes.
“If you are doing well as a person, the rest will come naturally. I think that is the order. We hope that things will go in the right direction for him soon and that we can greet him again soon.”
Ihattaren left PSV last year with a fight, after which he also did not find his way in Italy. At the beginning of this year, there was a surprising switch to Ajax, which rents the playmaker with an option to buy.
At the beginning of the preparation, Ihattaren still made a good impression. The playmaker looked fit and scored twice in the friendly match against SC Paderborn.
