Timber was initially scheduled to play the derby with Arsenal against Tottenham Hotspur next Sunday, but a serious injury in the season opener against Nottingham Forest threw a spanner in the works for the Dutchman. Timber is expected to need months to fully recover from his cruciate ligament injury.
Since he doesn’t have to play now, Timber takes the opportunity to say goodbye to his old club. Just before the first whistle, he will be thanked for his services and cheered on by the home crowd. Feyenoorder Quinten’s twin brother, who probably has a starting place, played a total of 121 games for Ajax.
