AMSTERDAM – Ajax has fought a fierce battle behind the scenes with top clubs from the Bundesliga, Premier League and Serie A to have Jorrel Hato (16) sign his first contract in Amsterdam. During that fight, the hand of technical manager Gerry Hamstra became visible. He managed to capture the gem that came from Sparta in 2018, which Ajax cherishes, until the summer of 2025.
