Ajax captain Tadič was injured in an armed robbery

The incident happened at the end of July, but only now did local journalists learn about the case. According to the newspaper De Telegraaf, the attackers were wearing motorcycle helmets.

The men appeared at Tadič’s house when he was getting out of his car. When the Serbian midfielder realized what was happening, he tried to flee the scene, but the attackers caught him after a short chase.

The robbers tried to snatch a luxury watch from the 33-year-old footballer’s hand. The Serbian captain fought back, opening the visor of one of the men’s helmet and hitting him in the face with an open palm. According to De Telegraaf, Tadič was fortunately only slightly wounded in the hand during the attack.

The Serbian footballer eventually fled the attackers to a nearby restaurant, while the men left the scene of the attack on a scooter. The police are still looking for them.

In any case, the attack did not spoil the start of the season for Tadič. The Ajax captain led his team to a 3-2 win in the opening round of the Dutch Eredivisie at Sittard last weekend.
