AJ Griffinnumber 16 in the 2022 draft of the NBA and who played two seasons with the Atlanta Hawks, explained that he has left basketball “to follow Jesus” and become a priest.
“I left basketball to follow Jesus,” he said in a video that was echoed this Monday by the American media.

“I know in a lot of people’s eyes, that seems like a loss. But I just want you to know that I’m super excited because I really I can serve God with my complete ‘yes’ and I feel that leaving basketball will allow me to enter the priesthood full time,” he added.
Of 21 yearsGriffin played at Duke University before making the jump to the NBA in 2022 with the Hawks.

In Atlanta he played 72 parties in his first campaign and only 20 in his second. This summer he was traded to the Houston Rockets, with whom he did not make his debut in the regular season due to his retirement from professional sports.
