“Airstrike in Gaza Kills Islamic Jihad Military Leader: Latest News and Updates”

Palestinian militia group, Jihad Islam announced the death of one of its military leaders in an airstrike carried out by Israeli troops in Gaza Strip.

“Ali Ghali…the commander of the rocket launch unit…was killed in the south of the Gaza Strip along with other martyrs,” said a statement from the Al-Quds Brigades, the armed unit of the Islamic Jihad group.

The Israeli military confirmed that it targeted Ghali in an airstrike on Thursday (11/5) early morning local time.

Reported by the news agency BBCThursday (11/5/2023), it was reported that a warplane pounded an apartment on the fifth floor of a building in Hamad Residential City, near Khan Younis in the south of the Gaza Strip.

Earlier on Wednesday (10/5), the militias in Gaza had fired more than 460 rockets at Israel. The Israeli military has also struck more than 130 targets in Gazain the heaviest battle in the last nine months.

Palestinian medical sources estimate the death toll from this week’s fighting has now reached at least 24, including three other Islamic Jihad commanders.

The Islamic Jihad’s armed wing confirmed that the head of its rocket unit, Ali Hassan Ghali, also known as Abu Muhammad, was killed in the attack in the early hours of Thursday.

Islamic Jihad is the second largest militia group in Gaza after Hamas, and has vowed to avenge the deaths of civilians Palestine who died.
