AirPods firmware update supports Find My Apple

The updated AirPods Pro and Max will now be supported by searching in the Find My app via the Find My Network feature.

Apple recently improved the Find My feature to be able to perform searches not only for iPhone. Find My Network, a new Find My feature allows iPhone, iPad, and Mac users to join the search for lost items, including AirPods Pro and Max with iOS 15.

This ability was previously possessed by the Find My application, but has very specific limitations. This only works within Bluetooth range which will only be useful if you know the general location of the place earbuds be. However if you really forget where the last put earbuds, this old ability would be useless.

In firmware the latest for AirPods Pro and AirPods Max, Apple makes it easy to find earbuds lost with the help of others. Other devices listed on Apple’s Find My Network will notify you when approaching earbuds that is sought. To be able to use this feature, you must first enable Lost Mode.

Apart from that, the update also updates the interface of the Find My app when searching for nearby AirPods. The UI now looks similar to the Find Nearby AirTags screen, but without the directions as AirPods don’t have chip U1 Ultra-Wideband. The display only shows how close or far you are to the location earbuds.

Because these features are part of the firmware new, you have to make sure whether earbuds can be updated or not. Because, updates happen randomly and you have to check them manually.
