Airplane pilot dies after taking off on a long flight

Istanbul. A Turkish Airlines pilot died on board a flight from the US to Turkey. The captain of the plane went down first and died before the emergency route was started, airline spokesman Yahya Üstün said in a statement on Platform X.

The Airbus 350 was on its way from Seattle to Istanbul when the pilot went down. Attempts were made to provide him with medical care on board. When that failed, the co-pilot made an emergency landing in New York.

The deceased was a long-time employee of the airline and was 59 years old. The cause of death was not clear at first. No passengers were injured.
