Lufthansa Group airlines are suspending flights to and from Tel Aviv and Tehran until October 14, while the suspension of flights to Beirut remains in effect until October 26. Something very common during this war, especially after assassinations of leaders.
“For operational reasons, the airline Lufthansa has already decided to suspend flights to Tehran until October 26,” the Lufthansa Group statement said, noting that the airline group will continue to closely monitor developments and assess update the situation in the next few days.
Meanwhile, Jordan has suspended its airlines’ flights to Beirut until further notice, according to a statement from the kingdom’s Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission. What is clear is that even more companies intend to cancel flights to Tel Aviv and Beirut, as in the past, which are at risk of being leveled by Israeli bombing instead of civilians.
Delta has canceled flights until the end of 2024
Delta Air Lines announced Thursday that it is suspending nonstop flights between New York and Tel Aviv until the end of the year amid rising tensions in the Middle East.
The US airline joins a number of other airlines that have canceled or suspended flights to cities in the region, including Beirut and Tehran, as fighting between Israel and Hezbollah has turned into a full-scale conflict with hundreds of dead. Air France is now expected to decide whether to cancel flights again.
“Delta flights between New York-JFK and Tel Aviv will be suspended until December 31 due to the ongoing conflict in the region,” the airline said in a statement. Affected customers can rebook their flights until March 1, 2025.
