Jakarta, CNNI Indonesia —
Airless tyres also known as airless tires or non-pneumatic tires (NPT) are under development for installation in vehicles. This innovation should be the future of the automotive industry.
Bridgestone is one of the parties developing this technology. However, Bridgestone currently only develops airless tires for commercial or commercial vehicles.
Fisa Rizqiano, Deputy Head Original Equipment (OE) Sales of PT Bridgestone Tire Indonesia, said that in the future these tires could also be installed on passenger cars, both cars and motorcycles. Also according to Fisa this technology is very suitable to be installed on the bike.
“It’s also very good for motorbikes it was worth itnow okay with airless tyre this, if we see that the bikes use inner tubes, yes, automatically there is no need for inner tubes, this is very profitable,” FISA said when contacted some time ago.
He also said that Bridgestone would not announce the emission of airless tires for passenger cars in the near future, although he said his party did not rule out the possibility of developing this product soon.
Fisa said developing airless tires for passenger cars is a complex idea that cannot be done in a short time.
“It takes time, yes, trial and error. I think it’s more complex to use in passenger cars,” he explained.
He explained that there are factors that need to be considered when developing airless tire technology for passenger cars.
“Because you not only have to be durable, you have to have a long life, you have to have good noise, so the match between the vehicle and the tires is very important. Especially if a passenger car can be driven at high speeds,” said Fissa.
