Airlangga responds to the King of Java offended by Bahlil Lahadalia

who was the General Chairman of the Golkar Party Airlangga Hartarto commenting on the term King John that was thrown around Bahlil Lahadalia.

Bahlil, who is the new general chairman of Golkar, warned his leaders not to mock the King of Java. According to him, this figure could harm other people.

When asked, Airlangga did not respond strongly. He also did not accuse the figure Bahlil was referring to.

“There was a king of Java in the old kingdom, not today,” Airlangga replied shortly after launching GENCARKAN at JExpo Kemayoran, North Jakarta, Thursday (22/8).

He did not give any answer regarding the ‘royal’ phenomenon.

Before that, Bahlil reminded Golkar that in the future they should not work with the King of Java. This was announced after he was elected by acclamation as the new president.

“So we have to be more patent. The problem is that the King of Java, if we mess around, we will be frustrated. I just want to tell you, don’t try to play with this stuff ,” he said for a while. Delivering the Vision and Mission at the Golkar National Conference, Jakarta, Wednesday (21/8).

“Wow, this stuff is really delicious. I’ll tell you, already, wow, here it is, and I’ve seen a lot, I’ve seen this stuff, right? I don’t have to say,” he added to Bahlil.

The Golkar chairman’s seat was vacant after Airlangga decided to resign on Saturday afternoon (10/8).

The Minister of Industry, Agus Gumiwang, was named acting general chairman, before Golkar finally trusted Bahlil as chairman by recommendation.

On the other hand, PDIP General Chairman Megawati Soekarnoputr criticized Bahlil Lahadalia for offending the King of Java. Megawati admitted that she laughed at Bahlil’s statement when she was reading the newspaper.

“So in the morning I want to have breakfast, what I usually do, subscribe to a lot of newspapers. And then I always ask. What’s the news?” said Megawati at the PDIP DPP Office, Jakarta, Thursday (22/8).
