Aircraft carrying Indonesian citizens from Afghanistan arrives at Halim Perdanakusuma

26 Indonesian citizens (WNI) who were evacuated from Afghanistan has arrived in the country. They safely landed at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, Jakarta.

The Air Force (AU) aircraft arrived at Halim on Saturday (21/8/2021), at around 03.05 WIB. Before passengers disembark, officers wearing complete personal protective equipment enter the plane.

One by one they came down from the stairs of the Indonesian Air Force (AU) plane.

In the waiting room, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi and TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto were present.

It is known, the government has succeeded in bringing 26 Indonesian citizens using Indonesian Air Force (AU) aircraft.

“The evacuation team brought 26 Indonesian citizens, including Indonesian Embassy staff,” said Foreign Minister Retno LP Marsudi through her Twitter account, Friday (20/8).

Apart from Indonesian citizens, there were 5 Filipino citizens and 2 Afghan citizens who were also evacuated by the government. Retno explained that they were husbands of Indonesian citizens and local staff of the Indonesian Embassy.

“Five Filipino citizens and two Afghan citizens (husbands of Indonesian citizens and local staff of the Indonesian Embassy),” he said.
