The Joint Staff Office of the Japanese Ministry of Defense on Sunday (4/4/2021) which was launched Asia Nikkei confirmed the movements of the Beijing carrier strike group.

The Liaoning carrier battle group was seen around 8 a.m. last Saturday in waters about 470 km southwest of the Danjo Islands in Nagasaki Prefecture.
The convoy then crossed the Miyako Strait, a 250 km wide waterway between Okinawa Island and Miyako Island.
This is the first time since April 2020 the Liaoning aircraft carrier has been known to pass through this waterway, and it comes just days after joint war games between the United States (US) Navy and Australia in the East Pacific.
The aircraft carrier Liaoning is escorted by a Renhai class stealth guided missile destroyer, two Luyang III class guided missile destroyers, a Jiangkai II multi-role frigate and a Fuyu class fast combat support ship.
The Japanese military responded by deploying the destroyer JS Suzutsuki, P-1 maritime patrol aircraft and P-3C anti-submarine warfare patrol aircraft to gather information and monitor the movements of Chinese warships.
