The Secretariat of Innovation and Economic Development, through the Directorate of Tourism, was present at the inauguration of the extension of the American Airlines flight between Dallas Forth Worth and Chihuahua.
This route, which has been operating since November 2021 by a CRJ700 aircraft with a capacity suitable for transporting 65 passengers, increases its capacity to 128 passengers, who will travel on board an Airbus319 aircraft, it was reported in a press release.
Upon arrival at General Roberto Fierro International Airport, the aircraft was symbolically blessed as part of the inauguration ceremony. They were present to receive the first passengers of the Airbus319, coming from Dallas Forth Worth, the Director of Tourism, Gerardo Vidales Sandoval and the Regional Manager of American Airlines, Orlando Hope.
“We are very proud to be able to increase capacity on the route to Chihuahua, from our largest hub in Dallas Forth Worth, thus providing greater seat availability for our customers,” said José María Giraldo, Managing Director of Mexico, Central America and Caribbean on American Airlines.
“American has a 17-year commitment to Chihuahua and we are excited to continue growing our operation in the north of the country.”
Thanks to the change of aircraft, this year American Airlines will have an increase in seat capacity in Chihuahua of 72% compared to 2021. Currently, there are two daily frequencies between Chihuahua and Dallas, departing for the city of Dallas at 10:00: 39 and 19:10 hours respectively, and landing at the facilities of the Chihuahua International Airport, at 5:50 and 12:28 hours.
The Ministry of Innovation and Economic Development maintains close coordination with the private sector to generate the conditions that strengthen the competitiveness of Chihuahua, positioning the state as an attractive destination for investors and tourists.
