On Friday, many machines could not land immediately at Hamburg Airport due to the storm “Zeynep”. A jet was assigned a holding pattern by air traffic control, which resulted in a curious pattern on the “Flightradar” app.

The two storm lows “Ylenia” and “Zeynep” of the past few days have thrown the flight schedules at the north German airports upside down. On Friday evening in particular, the aircraft often had to go around during the approach to Hamburg Airport: the risk of one of the wing tips touching the ground due to a gust of wind was too great.

Flight KL1789 made three unsuccessful landing attempts before the Boeing 737 turned and flew back to Amsterdam. The crew of an Airbus A321 on Lufthansa Flight 2080 decided to fly back to Munich, and the Emirates Boeing 777 had to go around several times before the wide-body aircraft was diverted to Oslo Airport.

The passengers on board the evening flight from Lisbon to Hamburg were luckier. The TAP Air Portugal flight with the abbreviation TP564 landed almost as planned at 10:42 p.m. Due to the strong tailwinds, the Airbus A320 was traveling fast and was able to make the final approach at around 10:15 p.m. – but the pilots decided to go around.

They first flew a left turn with two holding patterns in the east of Hamburg at an altitude of almost 2000 meters before they landed again – this time successfully. In contrast to other flights, the crew and passengers reached their planned destination that evening.

The recording of the last hour of flight gives an unusual picture on the Flighradar24.com app, which was probably not intended: According to interpretations on Twitter, the flight route of the Portuguese aircraft resulted in the figure of a male genital organ.
