Last week, the number of passengers booking airBaltic flights increased by almost 500% compared to the first full week of May. In total, passengers have made more than 13,000 new bookings, the airline informs.
Martin Gauss, CEO of airBaltic, said: “In the last two months, when flights were not available, there were very few new bookings for airBaltic. We already predicted that the situation would change as soon as flights were allowed.
Although we are seeing positive dynamics, this is still only a small part of the number of bookings made by passengers each week before the crisis. “
In the first week since the resumption of airBaltic’s scheduled flights, the airline carried 4,315 passengers. The most popular flights were from Riga to Frankfurt and Oslo, as well as from Tallinn to Amsterdam.
On May 18, airBaltic resumed flights from Riga to Tallinn and Vilnius.
The airline also operates flights to Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Helsinki, Munich and Oslo, as well as several direct flights from Tallinn and Vilnius. In addition, airBaltic has announced the resumption of flights from Riga to Berlin, Hamburg, Vienna and Dusseldorf.
