AirAsia Owner’s Controversial Massage Photo Sparks Backlash on LinkedIn

AirAsia’s 59-year-old owner, Malaysian Tony Fernandes, posted on LinkedIn that he had had “a stressful week.” “I love Indonesia and the culture at AirAsia. I could just get a massage during a management meeting,” he wrote.

‘Inappropriate and absurd’

Above the post, Fernandes posted a photo of himself, without a T-shirt, while getting a massage. According to the BBC responded critically. Fernandes eventually deleted the photo. According to the British broadcaster, AirAsia did not want to comment on the incident.

“Inappropriate and absurd,” someone called the photo of the Malaysian CEO. “He should set a good example and not show off his body and privileges,” said another.

“Some executives should stay away from LinkedIn,” someone else wrote. LinkedIn is intended for professional and professional contact with colleagues.

Flamboyant

Fernandes has been the owner and director of the airline AirAsia since 2001. He bought the company from the Malaysian government more than twenty years ago for the symbolic amount of one dollar. In England he is compared to Richard Branson, the flamboyant multi-billionaire who flew into space on a rocket two years ago.
