Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) – After more than a year of corona-related standstill, flight and passenger operations at Terminal 2 of Frankfurt Airport will resume this Tuesday. According to an airport spokesman, the first flight will start at around 5 a.m. with vacationers on board a Tui-Fly machine to Rhodes.

After the global slump in air traffic in connection with the corona pandemic, flights had only started or landed from Terminal 1 of Germany’s largest commercial airport since last spring. Now 48 airlines are returning to their home terminal. The Sky-Line train, which connects the two terminals, will also be back in operation from Tuesday. The northwest runway, which had been used as a parking area for aircraft for months, is also being put back into operation.
