YOU LOVE ME.- Air traffic control problems cause flight delays for hours at Florida airports, including Miami International Airport, reported the Federal Aviation Administration, known by the acronym FAA.
“The FAA has reduced the volume of traffic in Florida’s airspace due to an air traffic information problem that is being resolved,” the national regulator said in a statement.
The report indicates that there are flight delays with an average of two hours and a maximum of six hours.
The FAA noted that the issue is related to difficulties in the Route Automation Modernization (ERAM) system at the Miami Air Route Traffic Control Center.
That center is responsible for monitoring millions of miles of airspace for commercial flights over Florida.
In any case, the national authority expects to resolve the matter in the next few hours. Therefore, it is advisable to contact the airline before going to the airport.
The FAA had previously reported that Monday the 2nd would be a busy post-holiday travel day, with some 42,000 flights scheduled, “with possibly higher volume from south to north.”
