Avoid going outside this Thursday, September 7, 2023 in Loire-Atlantique. In addition to the ever-present heat, the department is affected by an episode of fine particulate air pollution. Consequently, an alert bulletin was issued at 12 noon by Air Pays de la Loire at departmental level.

“PM10 levels are increasing throughout the region in connection with the passage of the Saharan sand cloud,” the association explained in a press release.

What are the recommendations?

Any open burning, except for reasons of public safety, is forbidden because of this alert, specifies the bulletin.

The authorities recommend the use of public transport, carpooling and the use of teleworking. It is also advisable to avoid any intense physical activity and to favor shorter outings outside.

“If you take your car, drive smoothly and moderate your speed,” says Bison Futé.
