Cathay Pacific hopes to reach its pre-pandemic capacity by the end of 2024 and expects 70% of its passenger flights to resume by the end of 2023. To meet its goals, the company will add around 3,000 flights to its schedule by the end of 2022.” This represents a doubling of the capacity compared to last August and represents about eight times the average capacity managed by the company in the first half of 2022. As the COVID-19 situation eases, airlines around the world have been rebuilding their networks. This requires the global aviation ecosystem, including airports, suppliers and our own airlines, to undertake substantial preparation regarding crew and ground workers, aircraft reactivation and recruitment.” said Augustus Tang, managing director.

At Air France, the UNAC and SNGAF unions presented a strike notice from 22 December to 2 January. The flight crew denounces the absence of a contract that extends the collective agreement beyond its period of validity during the social negotiations and punishes a “pure and simple forced pass” for one “director’s note”. The union states that: “This notice should serve as a warning to our management.” For its part, the airline said it did “read the strike notice” et “he marvels at this notice when new negotiations have been underway since the end of September for the renewal of the Pnc agreement with the unions representing the Pnc and must continue beyond January 2023”.
