Air is leaking from the International Space Station in excess of norms

The Russian space agency Roskosmos announced on Tuesday (September 29) that the International Space Station (ISS) was leaking air in excess of the norm. The leak does not pose a threat to the Russian-American crew, she added.

The leak was located in one of the service modules, and the crew of the American astronaut Chris Cassidy and Russian cosmonauts Anatoly Ivaniszyn and Ivan Wagner plans to eliminate it in the coming days – said Sergei Krikalov, executive director of Roskosmos, quoted by the Russian agency RIA-Novosti.

In a statement published on its website, Roskosmos wrote that the leak was located in the Zwiezda module, belonging to the Russian part of the station. It was added that the situation does not pose a threat to the life and health of the crew and does not hinder the further work of the ISS.

Roscosmos also announced that additional air could be supplied to the station.
