Air Force transports patient from the continent to Madeira

Two patients, one from Funchal and the other from the Azores, were transported yesterday by the Air Force, through Squadron 504 – ‘Lynxes’.

The Falcon 50 aircraft took off from Montijo at 12:10 pm, towards Funchal, to transport a patient to Madeira and, during the mission, the same crew was activated again to transport a patient, who needed urgent medical assistance, from Ponta Delgada (Azores) to Lisbon.

Accompanying the mission was a medical team from the Air Force Aeromedical Evacuation Center, which ensured all patients’ health care during the trip.

Upon arrival in Lisbon, the patient was referred to a Hospital Unit.

In total, this mission lasted eight hours and twenty minutes.
