The communication from the military entity, published this Tuesday on its Telegram channel, specifies that nine of the unmanned aerial vehicles were intercepted in the Belgorod region; two others, in Bryansk; and two more, in Kursk.
The Ministry of Defense did not specify the targets of these attacks, which it described as “terrorist.”
He also recalled that in recent months, Ukrainian attacks with unmanned aerial vehicles against oil refineries and fuel depots in Russia have intensified, primarily in the border provinces but also in more remote areas.
The territory of Crimea, which separated from Ukraine in 2014 to rejoin Russia, is one of the favorite targets for attacks and sabotage attempts by the Ukrainian Army since Russia began its special military operation in 2022.
Russian provinces bordering Ukraine, such as Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk and Voronezh, also regularly report shell hits, drone incursions and other attacks from across the border, forcing the population to seek refuge elsewhere.
