Air Canada restores service to Brazil and Colombia

Air Canada today announces the intensification of its routes to key South American destinations, a new step in the reconstruction of its global network from its hubs in Toronto and Montreal.

Service to São Paulo will be re-established from Montreal on December 8, with four flights per week, year-round, and service to Brazil’s financial center from Toronto will become daily on December 6. The connection with São Paulo will be provided by a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, flagship of the Air Canada fleet.

Service between Montreal and Bogotá will resume on December 2, with three flights per week, and service between Toronto and Bogotá is increased to four flights per week on November 7. In both cases, the link will be provided by an Airbus A330-300. Flights to Bogotá will make it easy for customers to reach other destinations in Colombia and South America through Star Alliance Business Partner Avianca.

Air Canada also confirms its intention to re-establish its service to Buenos Aires from Toronto and Montreal, via São Paulo. Flights to Argentina, which announced the reopening of its borders to international tourists on November 1, are awaiting approval from authorities.

Another key South American destination will join Air Canada’s network in January 2022 with the resumption of service between Toronto and Santiago, Chile, with three flights per week.

“We are very pleased to serve some of the largest cities in South America and thereby provide our customers with new travel opportunities from our major hubs,” said Mark Galardo, Senior Vice President – Network Planning and Sales management, Air Canada. By re-establishing its routes from Montreal and increasing its capacity from Toronto, Air Canada is demonstrating its commitment to the Brazilian, Argentinian, Colombian and Chilean markets. This increased presence will not only diversify the supply of leisure travel, but also stimulate economic recovery by facilitating business relationships. Air Canada maintains a long-standing presence in Brazil. It has operated from Toronto for several decades, contributing to the strong commercial relationship between the two countries. “
