Air Burners: Generating Electricity from Forestry Waste to Power EVs and Specialized Equipment

Naturalists, of course, protest against deforestation, but the latter remains a renewable resource if used correctly. As explained Electrek, at least 70 million tons of wood waste is collected annually in the United States, and more than half of this amount is either openly burned or shredded for further processing. The Air Burners company proposes to use waste from the forestry industry to generate electricity in special generators.

They are a closed system that emits significantly less greenhouse gases than a simple fire. The generated electricity can be used not only for domestic but also for industrial needs. At least now, Air Burners is already developing a unit capable of accumulating up to 450 kWh of electricity to power electric vehicles and specialized equipment. When working in remote areas, such sources of electricity will be in great demand, especially taking into account the trend of converting special equipment to electric traction. Volvo and Rolls-Royce have already supported this initiative and will work with Air Burners to optimize the design of similar power units. Volvo produces electric construction and special equipment, so such sources of electricity are especially interesting for it.
