Air Bank, Moneta Money Bank and Fio Banka have formed an alliance for banking identity. BankID will be operational from January next year and will, inter alia, provide access to e-government services.
According to the founding institutions, the new association is open to other domestic banks. “For the clients of the participating banks, there will not be a significant difference from the point of view of using the bank identity at first. Each bank will offer its clients the banking identity service itself; only when negotiating with online service providers will the banks be represented by the newly formed alliance. The founding companies of the alliance are convinced that the principle of open and equal ownership of the platform will enable the provision of the best services in the field of digital identity, “announced the financial trio.
“It is therefore almost 100 percent certain that a unified banking identity provided by one entity in the Czech Republic will not be created. Only BankID can save this by radically changing the conditions for the involvement of smaller banks, ”he said Petr Dvorak from Wultra, which works with banks on cybersecurity. Twitter is around a debate ensued.
The first bank to be certified for BankID is ČSOB. Signing up for state services is now also possible via mojeID a The First Certification Authority also received accreditation.
